Miss Pryor, SSG Goforth wed Dec. 27
MRS. MICHAEL PAUL GOFORTH (CRYSTAL LYNN PRYOR) Crystal Lynn Pryor of Greenwood and SSG Michael Paul Goforth of Clinton were married at noon on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Connie Maxwell Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Bill Goforth of Bristol, Tenn., the Rev. Scott Smith of Greenwood and the Rev. Jonathan Pryor of Gaffney officiated.
Wedding music was presented by pianist Kimberlee Duncan of Gilbert and vocalist Sarah Goforth of Gainesville, Fla. The Army Arch of Sabres was formed during the recessional.
The bride is the daughter of Jonathan and Cathy Pryor of Gaffney and granddaughter of Imogene Pryor of Spartanburg, David Raub of Kingsley, Pa., the late Floyd Pryor and the late Betty Raub. A 2001 graduate of Gaffney High School, she received a B.S. degree in Biology from Lander University in 2005 and is employed by Connie Maxwell Children's Home and the Baptist Collegiate Ministry at Lander University.
The groom is the son of Gary and Kathy Goforth of Greenwood. He is the grandson of the Rev. Dr. Bill and Juanita Goforth of Bristol, Tenn., Mr. and Mrs. Bill Smith of Gaffney, and the late Charles and Julia Allen who lived in Knoxville, Tenn. A 2002 graduate of Greenwood Christian School, he earned an Associate in Computer Technology from Piedmont Technical College in 2007 and is employed by the South Carolina Army National Guard.
Sarah Johnson of Gaffney attended her sister as matron of honor while Jennifer Pryor of Spartanburg, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Goforth of Gainesville, Fla., sister of the groom; Audrey Neal, Cherry Smith, Katie Troutman, all of Greenwood, and Jennifer Lyons of Greenville, friends of the bride.
Ashley Goforth of Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, cousin of the groom, was the flower girl. Nathan Johnson of Gaffney, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride was attired in a white satin A-line gown featuring cap sleeves and a front chiffon split accented along the sides with metallic embroidery that also enhanced the chapel train. She wore an elbowlength veil with two tiers of metallic embroidery similar to the dress and carried a bouquet of red and white roses accented with red coffee berries.
Jonathan Goforth of Merritt Island, Fla., was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were James Stalnaker of Athens, Ga., John Piercynski of Gastonia, N.C., Heath Lunsford, Adam Schlomer, both of Greenwood, friends of the groom; Hunter Thompson of Greenwood, friend of the bride and groom; and Charles Smith of Greenwood, friend of the bride.
LTC William Goforth of Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, 1LT Matt Harakas of Lyman, SGM Terry Bennett of Roebuck, SFC Jeffery Goode, SPC Ricky Peterson, both of Spartanburg, and SSG Richard McCall of Greer served as Saber Bearers during the recessional.
Jamie Lewis of St. George attended the guest register and distributed programs. Susan Bowman of Iva was the wedding director.
Michael and Mollie Jackson were hosts for a reception at John Drummond and Holly Self Drummond Environmental Conference Center in Ninety-Six.
After a wedding trip to Blue Ridge, Ga., the couple will live in Clinton.
