POLICE REPORT A woman's purse was taken from the the emergency room at Upstate Carolina Medical Center, according to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. The purse owner told police she had left her purse beneath a chair in the emergency room waiting area Dec. 27 between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. When she realized she had left the purse there and returned, she discovered it was missing. The purse and its contents are valued at about $40. About $400 in DVDs were reported stolen from a Grubb Street home following a Dec. 26 burglary. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone broke a door window to gain access to the home in the 300 block. The DVDs were the only items reported missing. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to a Dec. 24 burglary on Killion Drive. According to a police report, someone entered a residence in the 300 block through a basement window. Missing from the home were an Xbox 360 game system, games and game controllers, a Nintendo Wii game system along with games and controllers, and accessories for a Nintendo Game Cube system. The value of the items are estimated at nearly $1,000. A shotgun, cash and several knife sets were reported stolen from a McDaniel Trail home in Blacksburg following a burglary. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, the homeowners had been away from 5 p.m. Dec. 26 to 6 a.m. Dec. 27 and a door was discovered open when a family member arrived. A Browning shotgun, $400 in change, and two Winchester knife sets, one encased in a metal display and the other in a wooden display, were missing from the home. |
