BLACKSBURG - Ruby Fay Edmonds Lee, 88, of 641 S. Charleston St., passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Spartanburg County, Mrs. Lee was the widow of Clarence Benard Lee and daughter of the late Gurley Roosevelt Edmonds and the late Sudie Mae Belcher Edmonds. She retired from the Bantam Chef in Blacksburg and also worked as a beautician. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Blacksburg.

Surviving are three daughters, Shirley Gray and husband, Gene, Diane Brown and husband, Edward, and Lorna McDaniel, all of Blacksburg; two sons, Frank Lee and wife, Mona, and Douglas Lee and wife, Sherri, all of Gaffney; a son-in-law, Cecil Bell of Blacksburg; two sisters, Estelle Lewis of Campobello and Margaret Lancaster of Spartanburg; two half-sisters, Johnnie Blackwell of Sumter and Judy Edmonds Larkin of California; step-mother, Lizzie Allen Edmonds of Alabama; nine grandchildren, Chucky Brown, Timmy Brown, Mike Bell, Jeff Long, Craig Long, Matthew McDaniel, Chance McDaniel, Bryce Lee and Cayce Lee; and 12 great-grandchildren, Blake Long, Jade Thompson, Lacey Thompson, Tanner Brown, Tyler McDaniel, Emily Bell, Wesley Blacketer, Taylor Brown, Jessie Brown, Josie Brown, Kaden McDaniel and Mara Grace Bell.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Bell, and two sons-in-law, Leroy Long and Lee Edward McDaniel.

Services will be held Monday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. in Gordon Mortuary Chapel,with the Revs. Grady Gregory, John Lancaster and Dave Lancaster officiating. Interment will be in Clingman Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Chucky Brown, Timmy Brown, Mike Bell, Jeff Long, Craig Long, Matthew McDaniel, Chance McDaniel and Bryce Lee.

Visitation was held Sunday from 6-8:30 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, SC 29342.
