Nellie Burgess

PACOLET - Nellie Ruth Inman Burgess, 73, of 957 Asbury Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Union, she was the widow of Ralph Oliver Burgess and daughter of the late Joe Inman and Corrine Saunders Inman. Mrs. Burgess was a homemaker and member of Rehoboth Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Ralph Stanley Burgess and wife, Debbie, of Pacolet; two daughters, Vicki Morris of Gaffney and Donna Proctor and husband, Dwayne, also of Gaffney; a sister, Jessie Jolly of Union; five grandchildren, Jenna Flythe, Amanda Morris, Grant Morris, Brock Morris and Cameron Brown; seven great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Henry Sherrill.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Burgess was preceded in death by three brothers, Ruben Inman, Robert Inman and Odell Inman.

Graveside services will be held Monday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Scott Kierstead and Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC, 29303.

The family is at the home of Dwayne and Donna Proctor, 150 Pacolet Hwy.
