Man busted for marijuana
      A 22-year-old Blacksburg man was arrested last Friday after police executed a search warrant at a home and seized almost a half pound of suspected marijuana. According to a police report, officers went to a Deana Lane home at about 9:45 a.m. to execute a warrant.

      Sen. Harvey Peeler announced today that the Cherokee County Legislative Delegation will meet on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cherokee County Public Library.       WASHINGTON - The Corinth Volunteer Fire Department has received a $92,072 grant in federal assistance from the Department of Homeland Security. The funds can be used for training, wellness and fitness, equipment and modifications to stations and facilities.

Mayor says city to focus on gateway projects in 2008
