Retired from Duke Power

Charles Garland Wilson, 76, of 131 Lettie Road, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at his residence.

Born in Spartanburg County, he was the husband of Sue Parris Wilson and son of the late Fred L. Wilson and Lillie Cooley Wilson. He was retired from Duke Power, was a Mason in the Chesnee Lodge 294 and a member of New Pleasant Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jeffery Charles Wilson, of the home.

Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by four brothers, Leroy Wilson, Andrew Wilson, Everett Wilson and Wilton Wilson, and two sisters, Pauline Wall and Rebecca Bobo.

The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at New Pleasant Baptist Church.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at New Pleasant Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. George Holland, Dewitt Clyde and Jimmy Steve Parris. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Pleasant Baptist Church, 242 New Pleasant Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29341.
