Sims finds home in mountains
Former Gaffney star retuns to area Thursday at Wofford

      Donald Sims got his wish - albeit probably a couple years later than he wanted. Sims, a 2-year starter at guard for the Gaffney Indians, has become a major contributor on the collegiate level, earning a starting role and scoring in double figures for the Appalachian State Mountaineers.

Indians outlast Mauldin

      The Gaffney Indians passed another road test on Tuesday. Josh Corry scored 28 points, including seven in a row, during a crucial fourth-quarter stretch to lift the Indians to a 60-55 victory over homestanding Mauldin. Gaffney improves to 12-2 overall and 4-1 in the region.

GHS players mulling over scholarship offers

      Several players on the Gaffney High football team are attracting interest from college coaches. Shrine Bowl linebacker J.B. Shippy will make an official visit to Liberty University in Virginia this weekend. Shippy will also visit Gardner-Webb University on Jan. 18-20.
