Missing woman returns home

A 41-year-old Blacksburg woman has returned home safely after she was reported missing over the weekend.

Friends brought Rhonda Jan White to the house of her mother, Shirley, on Monday at 4:30 p.m. in Gaffney. Shirley had filed a missing person report with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office on Sunday afternoon.

Rhonda had borrowed her boyfriend's vehicle Jan. 4 at 1 p.m. in Gastonia, N.C., to go to work. She was reported missing after she failed to report to her job in Duncan for consecutive days.

"After some of her friends saw the article in the newspaper, they got Rhonda and brought her safely home in the vehicle. She has been sent to a medical center for observation and evaluation," Shirley said. "If she had not seen her son Mitchell's picture in the paper, she would not have come home."
