Impressed with care at local hospital Dear Editor: A recent trip to Upstate Carolina Medical Center left us pleasantly surprised. My husband had lost approximately onefifth of his blood supply and we were sent by a local physician to Upstate for observation to make sure the bleeding had indeed stopped. We were promptly checked in and in the four hours we spent there we had answers to questions that no one else could answer. The emergency room staff were some of the most caring and friendly people I have ever encountered. The new emergency room doctor, Bernard Corbett, was very knowledgeable and straight to the point. He said after some research this is our problem and this is what we will do about it. It is nice to know that in Cherokee County we have a hospital that has gone back to the basics of taking care of the patient first. From the time you sign in at Upstate until the time you leave, you know that the service of experienced receptionists, nurses and doctors are giving the patient some of the best care anywhere. So in closing I would like to thank everyone at Upstate for giving us back a caring community hospital. Welcome back Upstate Carolina. David & Renee Turner Gaffney, SC |
