Couple wed Dec. 1 in Jekyll Island, Ga.

MRS.WILLIAM FRANKLIN CHILDERS (MARY ANGELINA ALDERMANN)
Mary Angelina Alderman of Waycross, Ga., and Dr. William Franklin Childers of Laurens were united in marriage on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, in Faith Chapel at Jekyll Island, Ga.

The Rev. Marcus Graham Coker, senior pastor First Presbyterian Church of Laurens, officiated the ceremony that took place at dusk.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wayne Alderman of Waycross and the groom is the son of Samuel Jackson Childers of Blacksburg and the late Helen Fayssoux Childers.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride was attended by her sisters, April Aldermann Dunworth of Stuart, Fla., and Allison Alderman Walker of Richmond, Va., as matrons of honor.

Dr. Gary Fowler Crow of Laurens attended the groom as best man. Jennifer Lauren Childers and William Franklin Childers Jr., children of the groom, completed the wedding party.

Guests were greeted by Rosemary Wainwright Hurst of Waycross and Angeline Gerrits Miltenburg of San Francisco, Calif.

Ushers were Thomas Burwell Smith and Thomas Darlington Todd Jr. of Laurens and Marcus Edward Cook of Gray Court.

Aubrey Elizabeth Walker of Richmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Skillman Walker, served as the flower girl. Ring bearer was Roy Frederick Dunworth Jr. of Stuart, Fla., son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Frederick Dunworth.

Following the ceremony, champagne was served in the garden of the historic Crane Cottage. The reception was held in the Crane Cottage and adjoining patio area, where a cocktail buffet was served. Music was provided by the N'tranze Band of Myrtle Beach.

Dr. and Mrs. Childers are making their home in Laurens after a trip to the Bahamas.

The bride is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and is a senior sales representative with Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceuticals.

The groom is a graduate of Clemson University and the Medical University of South Carolina. He is a family physician with Laurens Family Practice.

Prenuptial events began with a rehearsal dinner on Nov. 30 at Latitude 31 restaurant at the Jekyll Island Club overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. A low country boil was served to the wedding guests with acoustic music performed by Don Drury of Brunswick, Ga.
