Emma Phillips Emma Lee Fowler Phillips, 86, a resident of Brookview HealthCare Center, formerly of the White Plains community, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at Brookview HealthCare. Born in Union, she was the widow of J.C. Phillips and daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Fowler and Evelyn Camp Fowler. She was retired from the textile industry and was a member of High Point Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Larry Wayne Phillips and wife, Sandra, of Spartanburg; two daughters, Mary Poindexter and husband, William, and Brenda Pettit and husband, Michael, all of Gaffney; two sisters, Lois Ray of Blacksburg and Flora Moore of Gaffney; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Ann McKinney; a sister, Margurette McKinney; and two brothers, Ben Fowler and Ralph Fowler. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Clifford Phillips. The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
