Cowpens National Battlefield celebrates 227th anniversary
Special events Jan. 19-20 commemorate decisive American victory

      Rebecca Lipsey and Jimmy Simmons exchanged marriage vows on Sept. 22, 2007, at Central Baptist Church. The Rev. David Toney officiated the 2 p.m. double ring ceremony. A reception, given by the bride's parents, followed in the church's Life Center.

Gaffney fire chief is guest speaker at Tuesday Woman's Club meeting
      The Tuesday Woman's Club met January 8 at the home of Mrs. Gene Moorhead. Mrs. Kurt Jolliff, club president, held a short business session and then introduced the speaker for the afternoon, Gene Moorhead, executive director of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce.

      The Limestone College Honors Jazz Band Clinic will be held Friday, Jan. 18, and Saturday, Jan. 19, with concerts each night in Fullerton Auditorium. Both concerts are free and open to the public.

Limestone to reprise 'The Glass Menagerie'at GLT Jan. 17-20
      The Limestone College Theatre Department, in association with the Gaffney Little Theatre, will reprise its production of Tennessee Williams' classic The Glass Menagerie Jan. 17- 20. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances will be at 7:30 p.m. with a Sunday matinee at 3 p.m.
