ENGAGEMENTS
David and Diane Jolley of Greenville announce the engagement of their daughter, Devon Manette Jennings, of Inman to Brett John van der Merwe of Durban, South Africa. Mr. van der Merwe is the son of Miralee van der Merwe of Durban, South Africa and the late Michael van der Merwe. The wedding will be on Saturday, May 17, at The Wyche Pavilion in downtown Greenville. The bride-to-be is a 1998 graduate of Chapman High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of South Carolina Upstate, where she received a B.A. degree in Communications and Journalism. She is employed with Cox Radio Greenville as a Senior Account Manager. Mr. van der Merwe graduated from Durban High School in 1995. He received a B.S. degree in Biology and a B.S. degree in Finance from the University of South Carolina Upstate in 2004. He is employed as a Southeast Regional Sales Manager for Mitten Vinyl Siding.
Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Shaine of Chesnee and Mark Allen Petty of Inman announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Latrelle Petty, of Chesnee to Michael Brown Martin of Gaffney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Barry Michael Martin of Gaffney. Miss Petty is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Tennyson of Chesnee and Mrs. Bob Petty of Inman and the late Mr. Petty. A graduate of Boiling Springs High School and Swofford Career Center, she is employed by Expressions Hair Studio. Mr. Martin is the grandson of Mrs. J. Mathis Brown and the late Mr. Brown and the late Mrs. A.R. Humphries and John Martin. He attended Limestone College and is employed by B&F Development. The wedding is planned for May 10 at Spiegel Farms. Scott - Henderson Robin Scott and Todd Henderson, both of Gaffney, will be married on Feb. 23 at the Salvation Army Church in Gaffney.
The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Oveda Moore and the prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Henderson of Gaffney.
