Hershel Scruggs and his wife, Dee Dee, are pictured here reading The Gaffney Ledger at Waikiki Beach. Hershel was on R&R leave from Afghanistan after being away from home for nine months. After spending the first week of Hershel's leave with his wife in Honolulu, he spent the second week visiting family and friends in Gaffney.
