Johnny J. Mills
U.S. Army veteran

Johnny J. Mills, 59, of 229 James Road, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at Hospice House.

A native of Spartanburg County, he was the husband of Lucille Mills of the home and the son of the late Howard and Pearlie Waddell Mills. He was a member of Love Springs Baptist Church in Cowpens and Cowpens Masonic Lodge. Mr. Mills was a U.S. Army veteran.

Also surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Mills of the home; a sister, Hazel Hammett of Chesnee; and four brothers, Jack Mills of Forest City, N.C., Bobby Mills, Roger Mills, both of Chesnee, and Wayne H. Mills of Spartanburg.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Mills was preceded in death by a son, John Howard Mills.

Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Eggers Funeral Home Chapel in Chesnee, conducted by the Rev. Bruce Randolph. An eulogy will be given by Larry Price. Burial will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation was held Sunday evening 6-8 at Eggers Funeral Home in Chesnee. Flowers or memorials will be greatly appreciated. Memorials may be made to Love Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 554 Sunny Slope Drive, Cowpens, S.C. 29330; or to Macedonia Fire Department, 1741 Love Springs Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29341.
