Sandra Ruth Rayfield Bowen, 52, of 1379 Wilcox Ave., died Sunday morning, Jan. 20, 2008, at her home.

A native of York, Mrs. Bowen was the daughter of the late James Luther and Betty Addla Bratton Rayfield. She worked as a weaver in textiles and was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Bowen is survived by a son, Dwight Bowen of Kings Mountain; two daughters, Betty Simmons of Gaffney and Melissa Greene of Kings Mountain; three brothers, Rick Rayfield of Sharon, Horace Rayfield of Kings Mountain and Larry Rayfield of Gaffney; two sisters, Nancy Jackson of Blacksburg and Evelyn Moore of Blacksburg; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Gordon Mortuary Chapel, Blacksburg, conducted by the Rev. Vernon Craig. The family will receive friends after the service.

The family is at the home of Dwight Bowen, 610 Margrace Road, Kings Mountain.
