Edwards in Gaffney today
      North Carolina Sen. John Edwards will bring his "Back Home, Back Roads Barnstorm," campaign tour to Limestone College's Fullerton Auditorium today. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will feature music from Dr. Ralph Stanley of "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?" fame.

Grant ceremony set for Monday
      Limestone College officials will be all smiles Monday when they receive a muchanticipated enhancement grant from the South Carolina Department of Transportation. The $180,000 grant will be used to improve the entrance to the college at Griffith Street and College Drive.

Chamber sets deadline for reservations
      Reservations deadline for the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting & Banquet to be held Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Broad River Electric auditorium is Thursday, Jan. 31. Outback Restaurant, the caterer, will have to have a final count for attendees on January 31.

Shots shatter front door of restaurant Friday night
      Shots rang out on South Granard Street late Friday evening when someone fired a gun at a restaurant, according to Gaffney police. No one was injured in the incident but the shots shattered the front door of the Sandwich Castle, causing an estimated $700 in damage.
