Kenny Porter
Mr. Porter was in the National Guard Reserves and a member of Woodmen of the World. He was a former employee of the Cherokee County Detention Center and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son, Kevin Travis Porter and his fiancé, Christina Causey of Boiling Springs, N.C.; a daughter, Christy Quinn and her husband, Eric, of Cowpens; a sister, Jane P. Blanton and husband, Scott, of Gaffney; and two grandchildren, Erika Noel Quinn and Noah Wade Quinn. Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Corinth Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Dwight Easler. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Millwood, Bruce Millwood, Rick Norris, Charles Fleming, Charlie Parris, Chris Parris and Glenn Webster. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Thomas, Mike McDaniel, Danny Swanger, Lee Medley, Ronnie Smiley, David Parker, Terry Medley and Robert Padgett. The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Scholarship Fund for Grandchildren, Erika and Noah Quinn, c/o First Piedmont Federal Savings and Loan Association, P.O. Box 1900, Gaffney, S.C. 29342. The family will be at the residence.
