Saints record first conference victory

The Limestone men's basketball team waved good-bye to its conference losing streak on Thursday.

Marques Williams had 19 points and Andrae Franklin added 14 to help the Saints top Lees- McRae, 72-64 for their first conference win.

Limestone improves to 1-8 in Conference Carolinas and 3-11 overall.

The Bobcats fall to 2-13 overall and 1-8 in conference play.

The Saints jumped to a 43-27 halftime lead. But the Bobcats made a game of it with a 14-5 run to begin the second half. But the Saints regrouped and pulled away for the win.

Kenny White added 12 points and Bobby Grier posted 11 points for the Saints. Limestone big man John Prioleau had a game-high nine rebounds.

Limestone was hot from long-range, hitting 11 3s. The Bobcats made just five 3-pointers. The Saints also had an edge on the boards, 32-25.

Limestone travels to Belmont, N.C., to face conference-rival Belmont Abbey on Saturday.
