Daniel Richardson, 52, of 409 Suez St. passed away Tu e s d a y, Jan. 29, 2008, at 6:55 p.m. at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

A native of Cherokee County, he was the son of Clara Richardson Darby of the home and the late Sem D. Richardson. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Richardson and Lance Richardson; a sister, Judy M. Richardson; and an uncle, Paul Smith.

Mr. Richardson was a member of Westside Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir. He received certificates in mechanical drawing in 1976 from Stone Adult Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, and technical drafting in 1976 from Spartanburg Technical College. He was a construction worker, having been employed by Mitchel Construction Co. from 1999- 2003, McMillan Carter, 2003- 2005; and Vocational Rehabilitation, 2006-2007,

Also surviving are two daughters, Nina "Nickie" Camp of Blacksburg and Danyel Richardson of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Jackie Jefferies of Gaffney; a sister, Cynthia Watkins of Gaffney; and three grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church Inc., with the Rev. Alice Littlejohn and others officiating. Burial will be in New Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
