¦ The Shady Grove Church Young Women's Auxiliary will have its annual banquet, "It's a Love Affair" on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 5 p.m. in the fellowship hall. On the menu will be steak, baked potato, salad, corn, chicken and dessert. A $10 donation is requested per person. The YWA's will have a "100 Women in Red" program Sunday, Feb. 10, at the 11 a.m. service. Speaker will be Vernelle Wilson, pastor of the Temple Grain Ministries. The theme is "Issues of the Heart.

¦ Greater Buck Shoals Ministries on State Line Road will present "A New Beginning" conference Feb. 6-8 at 7 p.m. Theme is "Out with the Old & In with the New." Registration is free. Speaker will be Janet Floyd of Monroe, La.

¦ The Mass Choir of Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church will celebrate its 26th anniversary Saturday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 17, at 3 p.m.

Community events

¦ Limestone College will be holding its third and final American Red Cross blood drive of the year on Friday, Feb. 8, from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in Stevenson Dining Hall. Appointments can be made by calling 864-488-8373. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. The public is invited to join the students.

¦ The Cherokee County Adult/Community Education Program will offer a basic Introduction to Computer Class beginning Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 5-8 p.m. Participants will learn: mouse use; getting to know Windows XP; working with Windows; customizing the desktop and taskbar; working with the start menu; working with files and folders; Window programs; and help and support.
