Wallace Clary Retired church custodian Wallace Lee Clary, 83, of 200 State Line Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Born in Gaffney, he was the widower of Fay Turner Clary and son of the late Doctor Lee Clary and Jessie Turner Clary. Mr. Clary was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired custodian from West End Baptist Church and Buford Street United Methodist Church. He was a charter member of West End Baptist Church and was currently a member of Central Baptist Church. He is survived by a son, Wallace (Wally) Fay Clary and wife, Linda P., of Gaffney; a brother, Bobby B. Clary of Spartanburg; a sister, Sue Clary Wright of Gaffney; two grandchildren, Kimberly C. Elder and husband, Billy, and Stephanie C. Medley and husband, Brian, all of Gaffney; and four great-grandchildren, Seth Elder, Hunter Medley, Connor Medley and Clary Medley. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Clary was preceded in death by a brother, Sgt. John Willard Clary. The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Alan Peeler. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, (Children's Ministry), P.O. Box 8005, Gaffney, S.C. 29342; or to Peachtree Centre, 1434 N. Limestone St., Gaffney, SC, 29340.
