Mabel Dixon Gibson, 99, formerly of 210 Peoples Creek Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at Brookview House.

Born in Cherokee County, she was the widow of C.B. Gibson and daughter of the late John Dixon and Laura Moss Dixon. Mrs. Gibson retired from Hamrick Mills and was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Eugene Gibson and wife, Frances, of Simpsonville and Joe Dean Gibson and wife, Martha, of Gaffney; three grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; and two great- great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by a granddaughter, two brothers and a sister.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alester McKinney officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 115 Filter Plant Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29340.

The family will be at the home of Joe and Martha Gibson, 163 Farview Drive.
