James (Jim) Lewis Friday Jr., 48, of 316 Hickory St., passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby.

Born in Chester,

he was the son of

James Lewis Friday Sr. and Donna Youngblood Friday of Gaffney. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, employed by Magnolia Finishing Company and of the Protestant faith.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Jamie Friday of Hampton, S.C.; a daughter, Ashley Friday of Hampton; a brother, Kevin Friday of Monroe, N.C.; and a sister, Michelle Friday of Taylorsville, N.C. He is also survived by his fianceé, Jasmine Chandler, of Gaffney.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 4 p.m. in Oakland Cemetery, conducted by Ashby Blakely. The family will meet with friends at the graveside after the service.
