COWPENS - Mildred Goode, 80, of 3921 Old Georgia Hwy., died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at her home.
Born Jan. 16, 1928, in Lincolnton, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Lina Mae Ledford Gilbert. She was first married to the late Forrest Willard Blackwell and then to the late Dewey Goode Jr. She was owner of Cherokee Florist and was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Norma Jean Barrera and her husband, Elio, of Cowpens; a son, Kenneth Larry Blackwell and his wife, Beverly, of Cowpens; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands and parents, Mrs. Goode was predeceased by a daughter, Naomi Lynn Blackwell, and a son, Gary Wayne Goode.
Services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Clifford Phillips and the Rev. Dr. Scott Wachter. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park.
The family is at the home of her son, Kenneth Blackwell, 3912 Old Georgia Hwy., Cowpens.
