Retired nurse

Joyce Stowe Davidson, 74, formerly of West Ninth Street, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Ivy Grove Residential Care.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of William (Bill) A. Davidson and daughter of the late Berl B. Stowe Sr. and Flora Gertrude Wood Stowe. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School and a retired nurse. Mrs. Davidson was a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church.

Surviving is a son, Eddie Davidson and wife, LuAnn, of Gaffney; two daughters, Sandra Clark and Karen Harder and husband, Doug, all of Gaffney; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death by a brother, Berl B. Stowe Jr. ,and a half brother, Carroll Wood.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grassy Pond Baptist Church, "Youth Fund," 254 Grassy Pond Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29340; Buford Street United Methodist Church, "Forward and Faith Fund," 120 E. Buford St., Gaffney, S.C. 29340; New Heights Baptist Church, 1367 Pleasant School Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29340; and Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, 805 Cherokee Ave., Gaffney, S.C. 29340.

A private service will be held at a later date.
