Timken Employee Airlifted

TIMKEN EMPLOYEE AIRLIFTED- Pilots of the Regional One emergency helicopter take to the air Monday afternoon, fighting severe gusts of wind, to seek medical help for a Timken employee. A worker at the Gaffney plant, whose name was not released, reportedly fell victim to an electrical shock and had become unconscious. Paramedics were called and the helicopter was dispatched. Gaffney Firefighters secured a landing zone just outside the plant on Old Georgia Highway. The employee was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. ATimken official, who declined to be named, said the employee was held overnight and was released from the hospital Tuesday. Timken is reviewing the situation, the official said.
