Pegge Patterson

Retired schoolteacher

Pegge McGwinn Patterson, of 114 Indian Hill St., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Kings Mountain, N.C., she was the wife of Charles Patterson and daughter of the late Alvin McGwinn and Thelma Webb McGwinn. Mrs. Patterson was a graduate of Limestone College and also attended Winthrop University. She was a retired teacher from Cherokee County schools, having taught at Blacksburg Elementary School and Gaffney Junior High School. She was a member of Draytonville Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Randy Patterson of Spartanburg.

Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Earl, and a daughter, Kimberly Leslie Patterson.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 3-4 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Services will immediately follow at 4 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Dr. Joe Wren, Mrs. Frances Clary and Mrs. Mary Mosteller. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.

The family will be at the residence.
