Strickland close to naming coordinator

      Gaffney football coach Phil Strickland is moving to closer to selecting a new offensive coordinator. "It should be soon," Strickland said. The coach said several of his current assistants and assistants from other football staffs are under consideration.

      The No. 4-ranked Limestone College men's lacrosse team opened its season with a 22-3 win against Conference Carolinas rival Lees-McRae on Wednesday afternoon at Saints Field. Limestone's Brendan Storrier and Justin Haworth each scored five goals.

Limestone falls to Lees-McRae

      The Limestone College men's basketball team lost to Lees-McRae 73- 57 Wednesday night. Lees-McRae improves to 4-14 in the conference and the Saints fall to 4-13. Limestone's Andrae Franklin had 10 rebounds. Shawn Creal led the Saints with 15 points, going 5-for-7 from behind the arc.
