Hutzell new president/CEO of Mountains to Midlands - Girl Scouts of South Carolina

GREENVILLE - Kimberly (Kim) D. Hutzell has been named president/CEO of Girl Scouts of South Carolina - Mountains to Midlands Inc. Hutzell will officially assume her duties on March 17.

Hutzell is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Additionally, she holds a Master of Arts in Youth and Human Service Administration from the university and was a W.K. Kellogg Foundation Graduate Scholar. Hutzell also holds additional certifications through The Fund Raising School, Indiana University Center for Philanthropy, as well as Girl Scouts of the USA as a Nationally Certified Girl Scout CEO.

She has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector. Currently serving in a contractual leadership role as the interim Vice President/COO, Indirect Services for the newly formed Mountains to Midlands jurisdiction that services the Midlands and Upstate regions of South Carolina, she most recently served for seven years as the CEO of the Girl Scouts of the Piedmont Area Council, Spartanburg.

In addition to previous CEO and director roles for three separate Girl Scout councils in Illinois and Iowa, Hutzell has served as an Adjunct Instructor of Nonprofit Finance and Fundraising at the University of South Carolina Upstate and prior to Girl Scouting, was previously employed as a residential treatment Counselor.

Hutzell has been an active community volunteer holding various leadership roles with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Rotary, the Mayor's Youth Services Executive Committee, and the national Association of Girl Scout Executive Staff.

She currently serves on the American Humanics Advisory Board at the Institute for Nonprofit Leadership-USCU, serves as a state Board and Executive Committee Member of Prevent Child Abuse/ Voices for Children of South Carolina and holds a South Carolina Governor's appointment as Vice Chair and Trustee of the South Carolina Children's Trust Fund.

Girl Scouts of South Carolina - Mountains to Midlands Inc. serves 12,000 girls and 5,000 adults throughout 19 counties supported through regional service centers in Columbia, Mauldin and Spartanburg.
