Saints win opener 5-3, drop nightcap against Pfeiffer

The Limestone College baseball team split its doubleheader against Conference Carolinas foe Pfeiffer University on Saturday afternoon.

The Saints (3-2 conference/9-6 overall) won the first contest 5-3, while the Falcons (3-2 conference/10- 7 overall) won the second game 9-3.

Limestone's Clayton Knight picked up the win in game one. He pitched the first six innings, striking out eight and allowing seven hits.

Former Gaffney High standout Brock White pitched the final 2 1/3 innings for the save.

He posted two strikeouts while allowing three hits.

Saint second baseman Drew Lydon and designated hitter Adam McSwain were both 2-for-4 at bat.

McSwain, Zach Watkins, catcher Kyle Brewer and leftfielder A.J. Bsharah all had RBIs.

In game two, Pfeiffer's Ben Beard was credited with the win after pitching all seven innings. Josh Joseph got the loss.

Limestone first baseman Phillip Soden was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a double and a triple. Third baseman Matt Still had a home run, while Ryan McKenzie and Justin Moore each had a RBI for Limestone.
