A Wal-Mart customer who apparently became aggravated with the self-checkout process caused an estimated $800 in damage when he punched the computer screen, according to a report on file at the Gaffney Police Department.

The incident occurred between 7:20 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday inside the Wal-Mart on West Floyd Baker Boulevard.

Police said the man, whose identity is unknown, left the store before they arrived.
