BHS students display talents in competition
Camp, Lavine, Martin take top honors in annual talent show
Blacksburg High School held its annual talent show Thursday, Feb. 21, and dedicated the program to Jared Harris, art teacher at Blacksburg High School.

The winner was 11th grader Bradley Camp who performed
Decisive Battle from
Final Fantasy No. 6, on the piano. Second place winner was 12th grader Stephen Lavine, who sang and played on the guitar
Breath by Breaking Benjamin. Third place went to 10th grader Alex Martin. Alex sang
I've Got the Music in Me by KiKi Dee.
Honorable mention winners were 11th grader Caroline Earls, 9th grader Kelli Earls, 12th grader Rebekah Earls, and 11th grader Brandie English, who sang Enough by Barlow Girl. Also receiving honorable mention were 9th grader Lauren Roberts, who played three pieces which she composed for piano and Native American flute, and 11th graders Ashby Pruitt and Caroline Earls who sang Praise You in the Storm by Casting Crowns.
Other participants were Savannah Greene, Taryn Workman, Ely Leopard, Jason Spencer and Edward Spencer.
Chase Fowler served as the emcee and provided entertainment for the audience as judges were tallying the votes.
"This was one of the best shows we've had at Blacksburg High School, " said Lynn Sisk, music teacher and coordinator for the show. "I think our students really performed well, and demonstrated the wonderful talent we have at Blacksburg High."
