Verona Jean Mathis Homemaker INMAN - Verona Jean Mullinax Mathis, 58, of 9 C St., died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Mathis was born in Gaffney on May 31, 1949, and was the daughter of Pluma Leila Gardner Mullinax of the home and the late David Willard Mullinax. She was the loving wife of Lonnie Mathis. A homemaker, she was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and mother, other survivors include three daughters, Lisa Tice and her husband, George, of Montana, Lauren Mathis of the home, and Jill Farley and her husband, Tim, of Columbia; a sister, Patricia Sloan and her husband, Rick, of Lyman; a grandson, Christopher Martin, a student in Montana; a granddaughter, Jessica Allen of Spartanburg; her special friend and companion, her Chihuahua, Kinzee; nieces, Suzie White and family, and Toni Tisdale and husband, Robbie; and two very special friends, Carol Jonas and Trudy Vickery. Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Inman Mills Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jack Hames. Burial will follow in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens in Wellford. The family is at the home and will receive friends today from 1-2 p.m. at Inman Mills Baptist Church prior to the service.
