Support groups

¦ The Tuesday Woman's Club will meet March 11 at 4 p.m. in the formal parlors at Limestone College. Members are asked to call one of the hostesses - Mrs. John O. Childers, Mrs. Bill Peeler or Mrs. Gene Cooper - by noon on Saturday if unable to attend the meeting.

¦ A free seminar on depression will be held Saturday, March 8, from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Overbrook Community Church."Understanding, Preventing and Overcoming Depression" will be led Dr. French O'Shields Jr. Pre-registration is not required but helpful to ensure a seat and materials. ¦ A benefit for cancer patient Amy Lee will be held Friday, March 7, at Pleasant View Community Church in Forest City, N.C. A spaghetti supper will be served at 5:30 p.m. and a singing will begin at 7 p.m. featuring the Fairview Trio, Glenette and Tom Turner, Jeff Collier, HIgher Praise, Tony, Darrin and Mike. Fund raisers

Education

¦ The Cherokee County Adult Education Program will offer a Microsoft Word computer class beginning Monday, March 10. In the class, participants will cover the basics of the Word Window, learn to cut, copy, paste, change margins, create numbered and bulleted lists, and create onepage calendar, labels and envelopes; learn to use the draw tools, such as Word Art, lines, arrows, test boxes and geometric shapes.
