Local physician to appear on national TV show tonight Dr. Randall Moss of Gaffney will join a panel of other medical professionals on the set of the CNN Headline News channel's "Nancy Grace Show." "Without a doubt, this is a big honor. I've spoken in front of 3,000 people in New York, but never in front of millions," Moss said. Moss was chosen from a pool of medical professionals from across the country. The show will air Friday at 8 p.m. "Everyday we have a panel of experts on the show to discuss the issues of the day and to get medical insight about the topics being discussed," Debony Miller of the "Nancy Grace Show" said. "Currently, we are expanding our roster to bring in a number of new guest panelists. (Dr. Moss) just happened to be one of the doctors we chose." Moss specializes in a number of capacities in the field of health care, including providing patients with antiaging medicines, obesity and pain management, as well as general family medicine. He also is the author of the book, "Live Longer and Love Life." Moss was contacted by Miller about possibly being a panelist for the show. The doctor flew to Atlanta on Thursday to prepare for the show. "I'll be relaxing and reviewing some of my notes prior to the show," Moss said. "But of course, I'll be keeping up with my patients here in Gaffney." The justice-themed interview and debate show has been a staple in the lineup of CNN on its 24-hour news station, Headline News. Grace, a former violent crimes prosecutor, tackles many of the significant news stories of the day. "(Grace) likes to speak with guests on the controversial and high profile legal issues of the day," Miller said. "She likes to give her perspective as well as listen to that of other professionals on the set." It is not known what topics will be discussed on the show. "There are a few cases we follow, but we do not know for certain which ones will be discussed on the show," Miller said. "But there are not a lot of surprises, everyone is on the same page." Prior to taping the show, Grace and the group of panelists meet to discuss topics highlighted on that day's show. During the session, members of the panel are given articles and an itinerary relevant to issues being talked about on the program. Afterward, the group discusses their views. "(Grace) knows before the show what panelists are going to say," Miller said. "It is not known what topics will be discussed beforehand, but once known everything runs smoothly." The program plans to bring in a number of new medical professionals in coming weeks. |
