Rebel hurler shuts down Indians

      This hasn't been the best of times for the Gaffney High baseball team - especially offensively. After being blanked in a loss last week against Boiling Springs, the Indians offense was shut down again in a 7-1 loss at Byrnes on Tuesday.

      This time, the Byrnes Lady Rebels were smiling after their game with Gaffney. Byrnes made the most of just five hits in beating the homestanding Lady Indians, 5-0, on Tuesday and avenging a loss last month in the Gene Lee Memorial Tournament.

Dorman tops GHS, Bulldogs

      The defending Class 4A golf champion Dorman Cavaliers proved they are serious about keeping their title by improving to 5-0 with victories over Gaffney and Boiling Springs at Cherokee National on Tuesday. The Cavaliers shot a fourover 148, to finish five strokes ahead of the host Indians.
