It didn't take long for Blacksburg pitchers Chase Norman and Ryan Dellinger to find their groove.

Norman tossed a one-hitter and fanned 13 to lead the Wildcats to a 9-1 win over Southside on Tuesday.

Dellinger was almost as effective, allowing just three hits and striking out five to earn the win against Spartanburg Christian on Monday.

"They both pitched great games," Blacksburg coach Toby Elliott said.

Norman helped his own cause with three RBIs.

The Wildcats went up 2-0 in the first inning and added another run in the second. Blacksburg scored two runs each in the third and fourth innings to build a commanding 7-0 lead.

Against Spartanburg Christian, Dustin Byars led the team offensively with three RBIs.

The Wildcats jumped on Spartanburg Christian with four runs in the first inning. Ashby Pruitt led off with a walk, stole second and scored on Will Raines single.

After Chase Norman reached on a walk, Ryan Greene had an RBI single. Two more runs scored on a dropped third strike.

The Wildcats took advantage of six walks to break open the game with seven runs in the sixth inning. Tyler Moss opened the inning with a single. Raines and Norman walked to load the bases before Humphries walked to force home a run.

Dellinger reached on an error to score another run before Byars, Rashad Earls and Josh Scruggs each reached on a bases-loaded walk.

Moss capped the explosion with a 2-run single.

Blacksburg, which plays Chesnee on Friday, improves to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in region play.
