Wilburn Metz Phillips, 83, formerly of Cowpens, passed away Saturday evening, March 22, 2008, at Brookview Healthcare.

Mr. Phillips was the son of the late Claude Jefferies Phillips and the late Mattie Fowler Phillips. A native of Cowpens, he was retired from Gaffney Manufacturing Company and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Gallman of Cowpens; a sister, Valoree Jolly of Cowpens; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at graveside on Tuesday, March 25, at 3 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Robert Kirby and the Rev. Ray Caldwell officiating. Visitation will follow the service.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Jolly, Darryl Jolly, Dustin Jolly, Kale Cash and Kevin Cash.

The family is at the home of his sister, Valoree Jolly, 310 Lake Stone Road, Cowpens.
