Ervin Dewight Varner, 60, died Friday, March 21, 2008, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

A native of Cherokee County, Mr. Varner was the husband of Brenda Winkler Varner and son of the late Frank and Inez West Varner. He worked as a flasher in textiles and was a member of Beech Street Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Varner is survived by eight brothers and a sister. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Graveside services will be held Monday, March 24, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lee Mosley officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Beech Street Presbyterian Church, 1403 Beech St., Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
