Ninety Six Park will celebrate state's Colonial past April 5-6

NINETY SIX - Ninety Six National Historic Site will present Lifeways of the Cherokee Indians and Colonial Settlers on Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6. Admission is free.

Visitors will be surrounded with over 300 years of history as they experience Colonial life through an authentic encampment and learn about Cherokee Indians as Rob Rambo portrays Little Carpenter, the Cherokee Peace Chief. Durham Hunt will portray Robert Gouedy, the first Indian trader at Ninety Six, while Dr. William Brockington of USCA will discuss the history of the Scotch Irish in the area.

Reenactors will portray British soldiers, militia, Indian traders and Colonial families.

Events will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on April 5 and from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on April 6.
