Store helping underprivileged women 'Dress for Success' First impressions are of the utmost importance when trying to make a splash in the job market, with executives sometimes using the way a person dresses as factor in the hiring process. With that in mind, a local clothing store is joining a nonprofit organization to help make a difference. The local Dress Barn, which is located in Prime Outlets - Gaffney, is teaming up with Dress for Success to collect clothing from customers to be donated to underprivileged women in the community as part of its Send One Suit Week campaign March 30- April 5. "We want everyone to realize that when they make a donation, they are giving another woman the confidence to enter or return to the workplace, make a professional first impression and land a job that could change her life," said Michelle Redford of Dress Barn. The Dress Barn, Inc. is a leading national specialty retailer offering quality casual and career fashion apparel. As of last month, the company has more than 800 stores in 46 states. Giving customers options for career, casual and special occasions, the retail outlet provides the opportunity for personalized service and high quality apparel at an affordable price. "In fact, Dress Barn has evolved to become a leader in women's specialty fashion and dramatically changed its offerings over the last several years," said Carmen Lorenzano of Dress Barn. "This transformation attracts a more sophisticated customer through a more sophisticated Dress Barn, with a wide variety of clothes and accessories to fit all lifestyles. "The local store strives to create a shopping experience that is affordable while making women in the Gaffney area feel special and beautiful, inside and out." According to Redford, the partnership with Dress for Success is a perfect fit. The nonprofit organization's mission is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help them thrive in the work environment. "We didn't hesitate when given the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of women right here in the community where we do business," Redford said. "The partnership fit because we offer clothing and accessories for women who want to make a sophisticated fashion statement."
