Evelyn Nance Medley, 76, of 1006 Clary St., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Crawley Memorial Hospital in Boiling Springs, N.C.

Born in Blacksburg, she was the widow of Gene Medley and daughter of the late Freeman Edwin Nance and Myrtle Crotts Nance. She was retired from Oxford Industries after being employed 48 years and also from Hamrick's where she worked for five years. Mrs. Medley was a member of Kirby Memorial Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Reggie Medley and wife, Janie, of Gaffney; a brother, Jerry Nance and wife, Charlene, of Union; two sisters, Erlene Martin and husband, Hubert, of Gaffney and Martha Hughey and husband, Roger, of Gaffney; two grandchildren, Brian Medley and wife, Stephanie, and Brad Medley and wife, Amy; and five great-grandchildren

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Medley was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Randall, and two brothers, Bobby Nance Sr. and James Nance.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 27, at 11 a.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by Ashby Blakely. The family will meet with friends at the graveside after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, S.C. 29342; or to the charity of one's choice.

The family will be at the home of Reggie and Janie Medley, 207 Shannon Ave.
