Drugs seized, arrests made

Cherokee County Sheriff's Office served two unrelated search warrants last week that resulted in the seizure of more than three pounds of suspected marijuana and six marijuana plants.

According to one incident report, a sheriff's office investigator met with his Spartanburg County counterparts Thursday following Spartanburg County's arrest of Ramon Alberto Trejo, 36, of Webber Road, Cowpens.

Trejo was arrested on two drug offenses in Spartanburg County, according to jail records.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office met with Trejo and obtained consent to search his home. Police said they found several large glassine bags filled with suspected marijuana in an outbuilding and a .45 caliber rifle in the bedroom of the home. Police reported about three pounds of suspected marijuana was seized. A warrant was issued for Trejo's arrest, according to the police report.

In a separate incident, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant on Tuesday evening at an East Cherokee Street, Blacksburg home.

Police said in a report they found suspected marijuana on a kitchen counter, as well as several suspected marijuana cigarettes, in the home at 1394 E. Cherokee St, and also found six marijuana plants in a secondfloor bedroom closet. Police said the marijuana plants were under a "grow light."

Police said they arrested 49-year-old Danny Ray Love and 22-year-old Justin Garrett Watts at the scene .
