Man hospitalized with gunshot wound to chest Cherokee County Sheriff's Office investigators are looking into an early morning shooting on East Jr. High Road in Gaffney. A man, whose name is not yet being released, was shot at least once in the chest by another man in the lower parking lot of Connecticut Village Apartments on Friday morning, according to Sheriff Bill Blanton. The incident happened around 5 a.m. After being shot, the victim ran to a home across the street where the occupants of the home called 911. Blanton said investigators have a suspect, but have not yet signed an arrest warrant. "They are looking for somebody, but we're not ready to release his name yet," Blanton said. The shooting victim was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. His condition was not known at press time. Blanton said investigators were at the hospital with the victim. "They're waiting to talk to the victim and see how he comes out," the sheriff said. "They know the victim was shot once, and maybe twice," Blanton said. Investigators were waiting to hear definitive word from medical personnel. |
