Ernestine Grace Scates Blanton, 77, a resident of Peachtree Centre, formerly of 114 Pacolet Hwy., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Haywood County, N.C., she was widow of Thomas Blanton and daughter of the late Ed Scates and Matilda Harrill Scates. Mrs. Blanton was a homemaker and member of Southside Baptist Church.

She is survived by a brother, Jimmy Scates and wife, Teriza, of Gaffney; three nieces and two nephews.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 5, at 2 p.m. in Draytonville Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by Dr. Wofford Caughman. The family will meet with friends at the graveside after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 204 W. O'Neal St., Gaffney, S.C. 29340.

The family will be at the home of Jimmy and Teriza Scates, 113 Douglas Heights.
