Emily Jean Carpenter Wilbert, 72, of Orange Park, Fla., died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, in Florida.

A native of Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Carpenter and Alma Jones Carpenter and was a 1952 graduate of Granard High School. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Middleburg, Fla., and was retired from the Clay County Board of County Commissioners.

Surviving are three daughters, Beverly Gibbs, Deborah Masline and Jacqueline Dupree; a sister, Barbara C. Dancy of Montgomery, Ala.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services will be held Saturday, April 5, at 12 p.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 135 Brickyard Road, Middleburg, Fla. 32068. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Orange Park, Fla.
