LEDGER PHOTOS BY SCOTT POWELL

Mark Bunch shouts "Ole´" before serving a batch of fried ice cream at a table sponsored by Hames Music at the Cherokee County Chapter of the American Red Cross' Taste of Cherokee. The March 6 event, which featured 37 tables laden with delicious foods, raised $16,000 that will be used to help those affected by catastrophes. In addition to money, victims receive blankets, medicine and other living supplies.
Popcorn was a popular hit for students at Village School of Gaffney.
Everyone loves ice cream, including Josie Stroupe, 2-year-old daughter of Dennis and Jenny Stroupe of Blacksburg.
The owners of Clearwater Pools paired the Clemson University and South Carolina University mascots in a rare show of unity over food.
A Kut Above hair stylists Scarlet Ham, Kelly Parker and Brooke Martin had their lovely tresses arranged in 1980s, 1960s and 1950s styles. The trio's wild hair (and complementing outfits) won them third place in the event's best table contest.

Kerrigan was among the chocolate lovers to visit Candyland, the Cherokee County Junior Women's Club's first-place winning table. The Cherokee County Coroner's Office took second place honors.
