Carl E. Dickson

BLACKSBURG - Carl Edmund Dickson, 45, of 1727 E. Cherokee St., died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Kimberly Ann Taber Dickson and son of John Gilbert Dickson and Virginia Elizabeth Edwards Dickson of Blacksburg. He worked in a brickyard and was a kile fireman.

Surviving are his wife, Kimberly Ann Taber Dickson; a son, Nathaniel Scott Dickson of the home; a sister, Angie Upchurch and husband, Ricky, of Blacksburg; a niece and nephew, Kathy Upchurch and Kevin Upchurch, both of Blacksburg; and several other nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday, April 11, at 3 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Paul Sorrells, Vernon Craig and Eddie Bolin. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Upchurch, Terry Ziegler, Jeff Ziegler, Jimmy Wyatt, Darrell Love, Danny love, Joel Floyd and Jeff Hardin.

Visitation was held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary.

The family is at 318 Antioch Road, Blacksburg.
