12 young women make debuts at Magnolia Club ball

Anna Bradford

SPARTANBURG - The Magnolia Debutante Club of Spartanburg presented 12 young women at its annual ball on Saturday, April 12, at the Spartanburg Marriott at Renaissance Park.

Among the debutantes are two with Gaffney ties - Anna Grace Bradford and Molina Moss Torres.

Miss Bradford is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Sloan Bradford and granddaughter of Mrs. Walter Eugene Brown of Gaffney, Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Bowen Bradford of Spartanburg and the late Mr. Brown. A senior at Dorman High School, she was escorted by Thomas Johnston Patrick III, son of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Johnston Patrick Jr.

Miss Torres is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Torres Jr. and granddaughter of James Thomas Stepp of Gaffney, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Setliff of Rock Hill and the late Mr. and Mrs. Torres. A senior at Spartanburg High School, she was escorted by Jeffery Allen Earl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Jeffery Earl. Mollie's mother, Cathy Stepp Torres, is a native of Gaffney.

Other debutantes are Carrie Clark Boyce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barry Boyce; granddaughter of Betty Mae Shenk Pasternak of Charlottesville, Va., William Hubert Hacker of Allentown, Pa., and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Charles Boyce of Inman. A senior at Spartanburg High School, she was escorted by James Howarth Ritchie III, son of the Honorable and Mrs. James Howarth Ritchie Jr.

Molina Torres

Christina Beth Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shelby VanNatta Timberlake Clark Jr.; granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Donald Humphries and Mr. and Mrs. Shelby VanNatta Timberlake Clark, all of Spartanburg. A senior at Spartanburg High School, she was escorted by William Gregory Cannon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Lytle Cannon.

Amy Elizabeth DeVore, daughter of Drs. Karen Abele and William George DeVore; granddaughter of Phyllis Ball Abele of Spartanburg, Dr. Margaret Bowen DeVore of North Augusta, the late Dr. Donald Carlisle Abele and the late Dr. DeVore.
